Bottled just two weeks before I tasted it, the 2016 Cotes du Rhone was singing nonetheless. Mainly Grenache, it shows great cherry fruit, ample weight, silky tannins and just a hint of chocolate on the finish. Already delicious, it should drink well over the next 5 or 6 years. By Joe Czerwinski @ Wine Advocate, Oct 2017.
The classic Côtes du Rhône from the estate and just bottled, the 2016 Côtes du Rhône (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Carignan) is a smoking good effort, and probably the finest yet for this cuvée, Black raspberries, currants, peppery herbs and spice all define this totally charming, balanced, delicious beauty that has terrific mid-palate depth and length. Buy a case for drinking over the coming 3-5 years. By Jeb Dunnuck, Oct 2017. |
